Monday was very low-key. All the museums are closed in Moscow in Mondays. Asya and I went to the Bolshoi Theater to get tickets to Carmen, but were disappointed to learn that it too does not have a production on Monday.(We will try again later this week!) I was a little exhausted after all the sight-seeing and excitement from the past several days and thus chose to spend a quiet evening working on my journal, and doing a little bit of reading.
Today we went to the Museum of Musical Culture -"Glinkii" [музей музыкальной культуры имени М.И.Глинки ]. It was very enjoyable. We saw some fascinating exhibits on various composers including the Russian composers Rachmaninoff [Сергей Рахманинов] and Shostokovich [Д.Шостокович].
My favorite part of the piano were the beautiful grand pianos that were on display. After the
museum we decided to check out a Ukrainian restaurant that our professor had recommended.
It had very delicious food, and we had a fun time. :)
