Museum of Modern Art

After classes today we were scheduled to go to the Mayakovsky Museum [Государственный музей В.В. Маяковского], but it turned out to be closed on Wednesdays! (This is very bizarre since most of the museums are closed on Mondays!) After we drank some warm beverages to both warm and wake us up, we went with our guide to the Museum of Modern Art. There were many

thought-provoking, unusual,

striking displays such as a a dead girl

suspend in the air with a parachute. Asya

and I left the museum early to go to the

Bolshoi Theater (большой театр) to get student

tickets to see the opera "Karmen."

There were only 8 students in front of us when the

guard announced that they were out of tickets.

We were discouraged but decided to try again

tomorrow.
